Happy New Years!!!

Okay, so I have made a New Year's resolution to work harder on keeping up our blog. A lot of fun things have happened since we got married. Niel is still working hard at his job. We are so blessed that he works for such an amazing company. He has wonderful employers and fun co-workers. I really don't think we could ask for a better "job" environment. Niel gets the awesome opportunity to truly explore Colorado with his work. He gets to travel all throughout the mountains to little towns with water treatment facilities. Lucky for me it is very rare that he is gone longer than a normal work day.

Niel and I have been trying to keep very active. This past year we both have really enjoyed a new sport we picked up, GEOCACHING! (if you aren't familiar with the sport you should google it...so much fun) There are so many fun things about this sport, but my favorite aspect of it is that we get to go on some crazy adventures. We have seen many places in Colorado that we never would have otherwise. We reached our goal of finding 200 geocaches in 2010. January 31st, we ended finding our last 10 right after our first "true" snowfall of the year. It was freezing cold, but we were pretty determined.

My amazing husband is taking on the CHALLENGE of teaching me the amazing art of photography. I am the luckiest girl to have such a great teacher. We just ended up purchasing some new camera gear and have started my lessons. I am really enjoying it. I will start to post some pictures when I feel I have something worthy to show ;) !!!

Speaking of photography, Niel ended up having 3 photos place top 20 in an International Black and White Photo Contest. I am so proud of him. He truly is an extremely talented photographer. We had an amazing day yesterday in the ski town of Breckenridge Colorado. Niel's photos were featured in Altitude Gallery and will be up all month long.

We have both really enjoyed our first 3 months of marriage. There have been a lot of growing pains but we are so extremely happy to have found each other. He is an amazing teammate and we have such high hopes for our future. It is such an amazing thing to be married to your best friend!!!!

Love you all!!!

WE GOT MARRIED!!!

WE GOT MARRIED!!!

Can you believe it? I have no idea how we got so lucky. Niel and I got married on beautiful Lake Wenatchee up in Leavenworth, WA! For those of you who are familiar with the Northwest, lets just say you have to have some good friends in high places to think you can pull off an outdoor wedding. It doesn't matter what time of year it is. Since Niel and I like to walk on the dark side we decided lets cross our fingers and have an outdoor wedding in September. Someone must really love us. We could have not asked for a more gorgeous wedding day. There was not a cloud in the sky. If we had planned our special day to be one day earlier or later we would have had a big problem on our hands.

So we did it! We had the most amazing wedding weekend. It was so much fun. We rented out several cabins on the lake and family and close friends made a weekend vacation out of it. It was my dream wedding filled with water sports, great food, amazing music, an incredible group of people, topped off with a firework show.

I have found the most amazing man to spend the rest of my life with. I have no idea how I got so lucky. Life is so amazing and we are both so excited to start off this new chapter in our lives!

Niel turned 29! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Last week Niel enjoyed his 29th Birthday! Since he had to work on his big day we ended up deciding to truly celebrate it on the following Saturday! Niel had no idea what we were going to do. I am absolutely horrible at keeping secrets, but I wanted to plan an extremely fun day for him. Friday night I put together a scavenger hunt around Niel's condo. In order for Niel to find his next gift he had to follow the hint given to him on the sheet of paper he would find placed with every gift. A little "insider" on Niel. He is a little kid trapped in a 29 year olds body, so the excitement and pure joy this brought to him was the cutest thing you could imagine. After all his gifts were found and placed in the treasure box I first presented him with, it became apparent that he just put together an extremely cool GeoCaching Kit. It was full of Geocaches we can go plant, tools we may need, logs to place in the geocaches for others to sign, "make it yourself" geocaches, travel tags, and things we can bring with us on our geocaching adventures. The very last clue led him to an envelope that described what we were going to be doing up until dinner the next day. A Day Full Of Geocaching.

The next day we woke up early and headed out. We spent 5 hours hiking around a town in Colorado we both weren't familiar with. Minus sunburns and spider bites, it was so much fun. We ended up finding 15 geocaches that day. There is nothing we love more than spending time with each other out on adventures. We love checking out new places and seeing things we normally wouldn't ever think of going to see.

The night before, I gave Niel an envelope with GPS coordinates of the place we were going to have dinner at 5pm after geocaching. Niel navigated his way through town until we drove up Braun's Bar and Grill. As we parked I handed Niel his final gift! It was a gift bag with an envelope inside. Niel's eyes lit up as he opened the envelope to find tickets to the Denver Bronco's football game that night. We both have never been to an NFL game before so we were stoked. In the gift bag were Bronco shirts for us to wear to the game.

The rest of the night was a blast. We had an amazing dinner, and then walked 1/2 a mile to the game. The Bronco's ended up loosing, but we didn't mind too much. We were so excited to be spending time together doing something we both have never done before. It was a perfect day!!!
